Here you'll find current musings, as well as the archives from two blogs of yesteryear: YoungMarriedMom and What I Learned While Writing a Novel. Please comment and share. We love well when we are in conversation with one another.
Last week I mentioned that Jacob was saying “yes” but not “no.” I joked that if I were superstitious, which I’m not, I would fear that he would learn to say “no”—and I don’t mean just to drugs—the instant I hit the publish button on the post.
So it wasn’t that instant. It was more like six days and a number of hours later.
As of six o’clock last night, “no” is a part of Jacob’s working vocabulary. Except when it happens, it doesn’t happen just once, but three times. “Nuh, nuh, nuh!” often with a furrowed brow to complete the picture. A tantrum almost came with one episode this morning, but we quelled that before it started.
When did this baby become a little boy? I’ve noticed that he recently sprouted real, honest-to-goodness eyebrows (John’s). John noticed last night that his face is getting slimmer (the rest of him is certainly not).
I suppose his learning “no” is also simply a part of his growing up, and isn’t something I can control. But the timing of it, so soon after my post last week makes me consider giving up blogging.
Good thing I’m not superstitious.
haha! Have fun with that 😉
