A Cool Day in Catholic Culture

Happy Feast of the Annunciation! It’s a beautiful day in the life of the Catholic Church and a really cool day in Catholic culture.

For one thing, it’s Flannery O’Connor’s birthday. I’m sharing a few links to pieces I’ve written in the past about her. If you haven’t yet seen Bishop Barron’s Pivotal Players episode about her, I recommend that as well.

Happy Birthday, Flannery! at Brick House in the City (ignore the first bit about the liturgical year; it doesn’t apply today)

BIS Reads: Mystery and Manners at Blessed Is She

Also, it’s Tolkien Reading Day. I didn’t write this piece at Voyage Comics, but I think it’s fascinating!

For more links like these—and other fun stuff like sales and promos—I invite you to sign up for my (usually monthly) newsletter. It’s never spam-y, and when you sign up, you’ll ALSO get my free eBook, Seeking Publication: A Guide to Discerning If, When, and How to (Traditionally) Publish Your Work.
