Before and After

No, friends, this isn’t a puzzle on Wheel of Fortune.  It’s just a fact of life.  Our little boy is growing up, right before our eyes.

May 2011:

I’ve already packed away clothes he’s grown out of (a couple of times), and now I need to find places to store certain toys.  The mobiles on the crib and Pack ‘n’ Play are a no-go–I found a zebra on the floor yesterday–and he’s too big for the bouncer seat that used to keep him occupied, too.  Some things, like the activity mat, are getting second lives as sit-up-and-play toys, but those that he can knock down are getting the boot to storage. It’s starting to feel like we live with a tiny version of Godzilla–with the rumbling growls, to boot!

Jacob is still our sweet baby, but he’s looking more and more like a little boy every day.  Eight months in, and he’s crawling, standing, and sprouting teeth.  Can you believe it?  All those cliches about children growing up quickly are truer than I’d ever imagined!  And all the sentiments about this being the best, most fun part of life are, too.

Moral of the story?  The “before” kids is good, but the “after” is even better.
