A Bright, Sunshiny Day

At the funeral I attended last week, the priest told us that the Irish often say that the weather reflects the mood of the people. That very, very sad day was rainy and cold, and he was exactly right. Considering this is my experience of Ireland (Galway, in particular):

he had me wondering how sad his fellow Irishmen were on a daily basis. Well, I guess there was this, too:

Anyway, today the inverse seems true in Brooklyn. The sun is shining, the temperature is in the sixties, and I feel great. I put on a “Beach Boys” station on Pandora. I think our afternoon trip to the park may turn into an afternoon trip to the zoo. We’ve had the window open in the living room all morning. I just signed up for a private knitting lesson to learn to make a sweater I want, but haven’t seen anywhere. “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” right? Despite waking up from a bad dream, life seems on target today.

Today it is easy to be grateful and happy and eat a healthy lunch because it is just so darn beautiful outside. I feel ready for spring, summer, and whatever else comes along with it.
