Moving Takes Two Months

This week I finally put the camera and the USB cord together and went to upload photos to my computer. When I did, I was surprised to see it was the first time I’d done so in two months! Two months!

Moving house—when I say it this way, it sounds like more fun than it is—really does take a lot of time and effort. A lot of things fall into the background and “settling in”—adjusting the routine, endless to-do lists, always another box or three you forgot about—takes center stage.

Steadily, we are coming out of “moving” mode and easing into “living” mode. I am grateful for our family, friends, and especially John, who have worked so hard to help us make our home really feel that way. I’m also grateful for these little guys, who make it all worth it.
