This Blog Writes Itself

Jacob is on the brink of three years old. The way he’s talking these days makes it clear that he’s aware of so much in our world and that he really is listening. He also seems to be contending for full authorship of the blog.

On having (dairy-free) quesadillas for lunch: “I’m going to keep wearing my slippers for quesadillas. Otherwise I will get quesadilla on my toes.”

While finishing his second bowl of dinner: “I haven’t figured out what I’m going to make for dinner yet. . . . I have to go to the store. . . . I will go to Home Depot by myself.”

On the sweeter side, Jacob’s learned some of the words to a song called “Gambler” by the super-talented Tim Margiotta. Jacob’s uncle Karl plays violin on Tim’s album, and we’ve listened to “Untle Tarl” so many times, I heard the little guy singing this song to himself in bed the other night. What’s cooler for a Catholic mama than to hear her little guy singing this with a heart full of joy:

“First of all, there is a God.
That is a fact, not a tale or a story . . . “

He is adorable!!! Also, how cool would it be if home depot sold dinner?
